For the stout of heart and the readers of RSS, I offer you these two feeds:

There is no feed for the forum because its contents are DOUBLE TOP SECRET.

For the interested and interesting: ISRStaff on Twitter. Boom.

Back to basics

Hello, hello. We're getting back to basics here at isrstaff.org. And by "we" I mean "I." After a few years of trying to get this going as its own organization, with help from fine folks like Mike Riopell and Jeff Sammon, I'm going to just admit what this site really is: my personal site for keeping up with the ISR staff folks that I know and like. Why complicate something simple like that?

That doesn't really change that much for you. You're either in or you're out already. Occasionally a former staff member wanders in -- hello, Glen Phillips, Tom Ewan, and Chris Tombs, recent additions to the site in 2010 -- but it's generally pretty quiet around here. I guess it should be quiet in a place dedicated to a place where we spent only a few weeks of our lives together. Not everyone is as obsessive about it as me.

So, I've changed things up a little here -- not much, but thanks for noticing if you noticed. I updated what you see on your profile page. You can add a link to your Facebook or LinkedIn account, if you like. I was always a little hesitant to write any updates on this site when it represented an organization, but now that I admit it's just a personal site, hey presto, maybe I'll jump in here occasionally and write something to entertain you -- at the very least, I'll write something to entertain me, but I'd still like you to log in and leave a comment. (Actually, you can add your own full post if you like, or a post in the forum. No pressure, though, just a comment would be cool.)

This month I'm going to clean up the staff rosters from the 1990s. There is a standard style (see the 1976 staff page as an example) that I want to apply to all of the staff roster pages. And, by connection, I want to make all of the staff member pages that are linked to the roster pages look a certain way (see Glen Phillips' page as an example). If you have a few minutes, find a roster from the 1990s and help me edit. It's a wiki. It's easy to edit. It's not like I'm asking you to clean the dining hall after family night or anything. And it's not like I'm asking you to find a key to the oarlocks -- here, you can see the results right away.

Keep in touch,
-Kirk
