Glen Phillips, one of the original Wilderness Camp staff members from 1965 (a feat beyond comparison in my book), send me an email a few weeks back. He's looking for a little help finding a few missing staff members from the 1965 staff:
Glen is trying to contact the early staff members to attend the upcoming BSA centennial ISR staff reunion on 10 July 2010. If you can help, please let him know (i.e., contact him via his profile).
Hey, for fun, here's the 1965 staff photo.
Every Saturday I make a cup of coffee, sit down on my uncomfortable futon, set a timer for an hour, and edit the ISR Staff history wiki. Slowly but surely -- haba na haba -- I'm going to get all of the pages completed for staff rosters and staff alumni.
Hey, but I'm out of town and won't be able to fulfill my weekend ritual this time. Can you help?
If you want to know how to do it, the best way to do it is to look at properly completed pages. I have a standard way of doing things. See: 1990; 1991; 1992; 1993; 1994. Those five are done done. Click the edit link at the top of those pages to see how it's done, e.g., keep one window open for editing, another window open for peeking. All of the other years need to be edited.
Also note that each of the individual staff members linked from those five years are also done done. Use those as a guide. Again, click edit to see how they're done. Pay attention to the categories at the bottom of each page.
Listen. Rule number one about editing wikis: be bold. Make some mistakes. Everything is reversible. If you have any questions, leave a comment below. Thank you, and happy editing!
(Pro tip 1: Check the Recent Changes link on the lefthand menu to see what has most recently been edited.)
(Pro tip 2: If you're like me, you like to use keystrokes instead of clicking things. In Windows, Alt+E will open a page for editing, Alt+P will preview it, Alt+S will save the page. On a Mac, it's Ctrl+E, etc.)
